What's all the Buzz about?
We want you to be the first to know....when we harvest we will update you with where to find us.
Bermuda honey is from the nectar of wild flowers, due to our limited size the bees forage on a variety of flowers making it more unique and fuller in flavor compared to a mono crop based source. In the spring the bees are partial to Fiddlewood and in October they go crazy for the Mexican Pepper bloom. The mixture of wild flowers can produce a unique flavor honey that can vary based on the season it was harvested in addition to the color.
We believe honey should be Raw. Pure & Simple. Just as nature intended.
Most of the honey you find in grocery stores is pasteurized. Pasteurization exposes the honey to heat, killing unwanted yeast. It can improve the color and texture in addition to removing any crystallization. In turn the heat destroys many of the beneficial nutrients. We don't do that.
Raw honey has been used throughout history as a folk remedy and is believed to have many natural healing properties as well as health benefits, such as being full of antioxidants in addition to being antibacterial. See our 'Help from the Hive' page to learn more about our herbal healing balms.
We like to keep our practice simple, we operate small batch aperies and practice natural beekeeping techniques like most Beekeepers in Bermuda our focus is on keeping Bermuda Buzzing by using ethical and environmentally friendly practices to ensure the bees long term survival locally.
